The other week, right when everything was srsly due for the end of gradschool, Melissa (at left) had her one of the all-night-in-the-studio type of birthday that one is wont to, around here. I made a halftoned poster of her face (for like a gift) and while doing so, I found this incedental line-in-the-sand cropping job kinda funny. Indeeeeed.

Did my thesis presentation last Saturday and it went pretty fucking well, I would say. Indeed! Still have to finish up the book, and thank the roughly half-million people who helped me do all of the things that I did, but yeah IT’S OVER!!!!! Will report back. More stuff from the final countdown over on the thesis tumblr —fish

Here is what happened: Isaac in telling me about the RISD grad viewbook he did last summer, mentioned that he used Galaxie Polaris for the sans-serif Helvetica-ish shit. Only I was very fucking tired; so the next day I asked him, “What was that typeface again? Sparklehorse Ponystar???” … which was funny, and in fact Sparkehorse Ponystar proved to be a handy name for the My Little Pony (pictured) that I inherited from Clara.

Erm. Anyway, Jerlyn took the picture, and so I am posting it as like a “good luck” thing cuz her thesis review is in about 14 hours. OK.

in honor of my esteemed colleague Bryan’s imminent thesis defense — concurrent as it is with my own — I give you a little collection of old and adorable-looking Harvard archie zines, brought to you by the enigmatically numerical-URL’d Trays Magazine, itself a Harvard archie zine. Erm. So yeah — that is a big FUCK YEAH to my whiskey-fueled friend!

TRANSPARENT POST-ITS. As the unnamed, nebulous (and presumably cycloptic) editorial authority of monoscope says, it’s about flippin’ time — to which I would add: fuck yes.

Folded bookart explication of the alphabet presented to music — like the serious older brother of Shitdisco’s OK video. (Tangentally, how bad does YouTube suck at not overcompressing the living shit out of everything? F those guys.)
